Creating and Implementing an Action Plan with the Results from the RNR Simulation Tool for Programs Offered to Justice-Involved Individuals

The objectives of this course are to develop an in depth understanding of the RNR simulation program tool, to apply the tool in case scenarios, to develop an action plan with implementation steps needed to improve programs with the RNR Simulation Tool, and to describe how to continue monitoring program fidelity with periodic use of the tool.

In Lesson 1, we will briefly discuss the risk-need-responsivity model and then we will discuss the background and development of the RNR Simulation Tool being used in this course.

In Lesson 2, we will become familiar with the RNR Simulation Tool, particularly the program tool, its components and how the tool functions.

In Lesson 3, we will discuss how to use the results garnered from the tool to create an action plan.

Lesson 4 will move into discussion of how to implement ongoing fidelity monitoring and evaluation with the use of the RNR tool. Three skill-building activities will be interspersed throughout the lessons.

The lessons will conclude with a ten-item posttest, recommended resources for further learning, and finally, a bibliography.  monitoring and evaluation with the use of the RNR tool.

This course is designed to benefit researchers who are interested in conducting experimental and clinical trials of interventions and criminal justice professionals and healthcare professionals who are interested in implementing evidence driven interventions in criminal justice and correctional settings. This series can also benefit healthcare professionals and para-professionals who work with people that have histories of criminal justice system involvement.
